    offline device

    Hi friends,

I am starting to work with the i.LON SmartServer and powerline devices. I have a FTT powerline SmartServer which is working in Stand Alone Mode. When I commission a device on the FTT channel I can communicate properly with it and monitor its variables. When I commission a device on a PL channel (I´m using a PL-FTT Router in repeating mode) I don´t have any problem but the device appear on the SmartServer tree in offline mode. I force it to set Online but the device doesn´t change its state. The device has 5 network variables with a poll rate of 600 seconds.

Is there a way to change the device to online mode and communicate properly with it?

        Best regards,

                 Alex

    Re: offline device

     Hi

The device will appear offline if the SmartServer could not read a variable from the device at one point. It should go back online when the SmartServer successfully reads from the device again. Maybe your powerline bandwidth is unsufficient though your description certainly does not sound like that. When your SmartServer is in standalone it knows of ALL the device's NVs and will poll them if you don't tell it to not do that!

     Regards
