I would be interested to hear if the i.LON SmartServer can be used as a LON-SNMP Gateway? Perhaps someone has made or knows how to make a FPM for this?

 Hello Sven,

The FPM is oriented towards data point and file management.  It can also be used to build interface drivers that do not use TCP/IP.

SNMP support on an iLON makes a lot of sense to me also.  Out-of-the Box tools for Uptime monitoring could easily come into play then. 

 If a reasonable feature set were proposed and we could prove that it would lead to additional sales - then I could see the feature being added to the next release.

 Perhaps the following features might make sense:

1. CPU Load
2. Uptime
3. Memory Usage
4. Ethernet Traffic
5. LON traffic
6.  (Devices online/offline)
7. ???

I would think that this tool would be more IT-specific.  No need to collect acutal temperatures or device datapoints.  Just Uptime/network status/iLON health datapoints. 

Any other thoughs out there?
